The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Nahum 1:7 (KJV).
REFLECT:
It makes a huge difference to our overall well-being when we get to know how much we mean to someone other than ourselves. For instance, in the case of a married couple, who are caring and loving toward each other. You find in the lives of such persons a sense of strength, togetherness, oneness, and the ability to face life’s challenges without much of the usual fears, anxieties and struggles prevalent in our world.
The Grace of being in such a relationship is that such persons are shielded from and unaffected by a lot of the emotional, psychological, and physical trauma of life.
There is nothing like being cared for and having people who look out for us in different ways. Unfortunately, it is sad to note this kind of warmth, caring, and loving show of affection or behavior is becoming so few and far between that, they almost seem to be none existing these days.
With a rapidly increasing and ever-developing civilization in the world we live in, all we seem to ever do is try to keep up with the fast-moving trends and pace of such development. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise or shock when we hear that we no longer have the personal and intimate human relationships that once were thirty, or forty years ago.
What we now have are very rushed hellos and hasty goodbyes. Maybe an occasional how do you do. Even smiles on the streets are very suspicious and sometimes cold and distant. We are all so preoccupied with the internal struggles and stress we carry around with us daily. Friend, what we all need is the blessed assurance of God’s presence.
God’s presence provides His divine Grace over us to protect, shield, and cover us, making us unaffected by the upheavals, trauma, and chaos running riot in the world.
We need to know, especially those of us who have surrendered our lives to Jesus and made Him our Lord and Savior, that we are not defined by what the world says, does, or looks like. Our validation comes from God Almighty. He is our help and helper; our protection, defender, our loving, and caring Heavenly Father.
He has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God has invested too much in us for Him not to care and love us. Remember that He gave up His only begotten Son Jesus just to extend His loving-kindness to us. Romans 8:32 is a confirmation of the fact that God has invested so much in us therefore He is obligated to help us in every way possible “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (KJV).
Even more amazing is the fact that God’s kind of love and care goes deeper and is greater than a mother’s kind of love and care, ” Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Isaiah 49::15( KJV).
So, be encouraged today knowing that we are extremely important to God our Heavenly Father, and thus with His Grace over us we are unaffected by the world’s chaotic systems. The reason is that God’s goodness, mercy, and loving-kindness are totally unaffected by the circumstances and situations around us. HALLELUJAH!!
When we make God the most intimate of all our relationships, depending and trusting on His Grace as our covering we receive a Divine and supernatural validation that shields us from all trouble.
