By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. Hebrews 11:22-23 (KJV).
REFLECT:
As people of faith, who have accepted and received Jesus as Lord and Savior and who have been weaned by the Holy Spirit of Grace unto God the Father, it is expected we never lax concerning our faith.
This means we should always exhibit faith moments in our daily walk with God, because of the expectation of hope He has so invested in us. However, the question is, are we doing this? If the answer is yes, how are we then making this happen? If on the contrary, the answer is no, then what is hindering or preventing us from being the faith people or persons God has called us to be?
These are serious questions that we must personally ponder on and perhaps glean answers or solutions to as we reflect today. From our Bible verse for today, we see how our faith fathers and mothers walked with God.
Their faith walk was a daily practice and occurrence. They had their eyes and focus always on God. They were not ashamed or afraid in the face of any given situation or circumstance to call Him their God. They believed His words and commandments and persevered even in difficult times.
Their sole priority was to please God and showcase Him to the world. They relegated ‘self’ and put God first, so no wonder God was able to show up for them in amazing and mind-blowing ways. Today we read of their acts, they were all ordinary, inconsequential people like us, but they were giants because of their simple faith – to hear, believe, and obey God for who and what He says, He was, is, and always will be.
So, what stance do we need to take? According to the Bible, we are told that all these faith accounts and records are written as examples for us to follow. They are meant to encourage us and make us aware that our walk with God is not in vain and can never be fruitless.
Therefore, it is time for us to quit sitting on the fence, stop being mere observers, and rise and accomplish a by faith moment that will glorify God. Let us showcase Him to the world for who He is – the ALMIGHTY and EVERLASTING GOD. The one who speaks, and it comes to pass. He is worthy of all our praise.
A simple faith of hearing, believing, and obeying God in the ways He has called us to walk in will never go empty, fizzle out or dissipate without achieving Heaven’s intended result or expectations on earth (i.e., having God’s will being done on earth as it is in Heaven). The reason for this is because God our Heavenly Father desires to look upon and see our every Faith moment in life.
