But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. Amos 5:24 (KJV).

REFLECT:
Justice and Righteousness! Our Emblem and Insignia! Any people group, system, civilization, nation, or country who does not understand, display, and take very seriously the whole concept or aspects of Justice and Righteousness are doomed to fail.

This is because both factors are springs from which life, rebirth, and renewal come forth. Without the presence of these two factors in our world and its systems, there will always be replacement of other adverse occurrences such as disorderliness, dishevelment, and decay and whole nations and civilizations have known to have crumbled under such adverse weights.

Even if such civilizations may look or seem as though they are thriving outwardly and these societies happen to bear up devoid of justice and righteousness it is only a matter of time and they will come crashing down like a pack of cards without a foundation, history should have taught us this by now!

So, why are Justice and Righteousness so important? As was mentioned earlier, these key components are the wellspring of life, rebirth, and renewal. They bring forth life, hope, and a promise to a people for a better and greater tomorrow. (Psalms 85).

They restore and maintain peace and safety in our lives and societies, by causing us to strive toward living right, upright, and justly in our ways. Enabling the right principles and values whereby people unashamedly and openly condemn and render due verdicts for sin, crime, and evil, and reward good deeds in return.

How then can we obtain and maintain these key components for survival and well-being? Indeed, if we on our own or by our human abilities and power were able to obtain and maintain these great characteristics, our world would have been a wonderful place to live in, wouldn’t it? However, this is not the case. Therefore, we need help, and this kind of help can only come from someone bigger and greater than ourselves.

The only place we can find such enormous help is from above, none other than from Almighty God, the creator of Heaven and earth. This is because He is the sole author of Righteousness and Justice. The Bible tells us that, Righteousness and Justice are the foundations of His throne (Psalms 89:14).

This means that righteousness and justice are the divine emblems and insignia of God’s throne. Thus if we must achieve or adopt these divine tokens or badges, and make them our own, we must submit to God. We must be willing to walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, be prepared to obey Him, and be led by the Holy Spirit.

For there is no shortcut to obtaining these tokens we are talking about. We must go through the due channels for us to fully obtain and function in these areas. Our priority in this regard is to be in right standing with God, choosing to do His will, living by His rules and commands while standing in a position to hate and shun everything evil.

It is by following the due process or protocol that would give us the access to receive the Grace and Power from God to operate and function under the authority of the divine emblem and Insignia of Heaven – Righteousness and Justice.

Making righteousness and justice our emblem and insignia has to be a personal choice to make and live by, and that choice is choosing to be on God’s side, that choice is Jesus. By so doing we become qualified to be called the sons of God and empowered to establish God’s righteousness and justice on the earth.

FATHER GOD, You desire a world that is marked by grace and mercy. Help me to be part of shaping that world by living a life that is pleasing to You. Please establish me in your ways of Righteousness and Justice and give me a heart that desires to be kind to others, not for show, but out of love for You, Your ways, and for others as well.
