Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7 (KJV).
REFLECT:
A GPS known as– A Global Positioning System, is one invention by man that we can give some good credence to when used with the right intentions. This technological device has been instrumental in tracking terrible criminal events and activities. Giving directions to law enforcement agents for locations where these crimes are happening.
It also comes in very handy to road users with directions–locating places they are not used to or familiar with. Almost every road user at some point has utilized the services of a GPS device. The good thing about GPS is that they are almost very accurate unless there is a malfunction with the device it is installed on.
It will be good to mention here that a lot of people have come to rely and depend on this device daily primarily for direction. This is because they believe it is quite accurate, effective, and serve their needs in performing their duties.
What is most important for people using a GPS is the assurance that they will never get lost no matter where they find themselves, the GPS will always be there to direct or redirect them back to safety or familiar territory.
How amazing to know that a GPS can have all these functions! If a man-made device such as a GPS can make such a profound impact on our lives, one would wonder what God’s Divine GPS would do. Now some of us may wonder why the switch to talking about God’s Divine GPS.
Indeed, if we believe that the spiritual and supernatural exist, and their existence conditions the physical then we will have no difficulty believing that God’s technology is way more superior to what we have here on earth and that would include the GPS we have been talking about.
Also, since we know that God’s ways are not our ways, (Isaiah 55:8-9), then this should inform us that there is a huge difference between Heavenly matters and earthly concerns of which there is no basis for comparison, whether in quality, accuracy, precision or otherwise.
There is a big difference between Heaven’s GPS and earth’s GPS, in that earth’s GPS is limited to the physical realm, whilst Heaven’s kind of GPS affects both the physical planes as well as spiritual. This means that God’s Divine GPS, affects, influences, and conditions our lives, and quality of living here on earth from a Heavenly standpoint.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:9-10: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (KJV). This Bible verse clearly explains how God’s Divine GPS is multi-dimensional. Our lives can never fully come to terms with all that Heaven has to offer us here on earth if we are not fully connected to Heaven’s GPS.
The sad thing is that a lot of us shortchange our life’s destinies and purposes because we are either partially or completely unconnected to God’s Divine GPS.
So, what can we say constitutes God’s Heavenly Divine GPS? In our Bible verse for today, we are given some insight into what constitutes Heaven’s Divine GPS, and these are non-other than God’s Divine ‘Righteousness, Judgements, and councils.’
Why would we call these attributes of God — a GPS? The answer according to our Bible reading for today is that they are navigational tools God uses to direct and redirect us to Him at every point of our relationship, and walk with Him.
Therefore, these attributes as God’s Divine GPS always and without fail have the power to perform an accurate and precise job of pointing us back to God, aligning us with His Divine destinies, purposes, and calling which He has created from the foundation of the world and reserved in Heaven for our lives here on earth.
How do we access God’s Divine GPS? This should be a question everyone can obviously answer. The only place we can access these Divine GPS is the Bible—the Word of God. Also, if we already have a working relationship with God in Christ Jesus, we are entitled to access all of God’s Divine navigational GPS tools through the Divine function of God’s Holy Spirit. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives that activates and enables God’s GPS to work for us, helping us find the right way back to God and into God’s purposes for our lives.
Accessing God’s Heavenly Divine GPS means accessing God our Heavenly Father and all that He has for us His children—“Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need,” (Hebrews 4:16 KJV).
