Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:11 KJV.
REFLECT:
Love! A command, not a choice! As believers in Christ, this is what we are called to do, to love our neighbors. In broaching the topic of love what usually most of us do is think of ways to cut corners to suit ourselves, our selfish motives, or desires just like the man who asked the question that prompted Jesus to share the parable of the ‘Good Samaritan.’ (Luke 10:25 – 37).
Sincerely, the act of loving others is not an easy task, but there was an example given to us as a blueprint to help propel us towards the direction of unconditionally loving the people placed in our world. People we interact with each day.
The author of this unconditional love is God who first gave love freely to us by offering up His only begotten Son to die for us, we who were once sinners and alienated from God the Father. Jesus our Lord and Savior died on the cross so that we could come into the fulness of God’s goodness for our lives.
This unconditional and sacrificial love is the blueprint Jesus is commanding us to follow. An unconditional love no matter who the person is, what such persons have done, or what they represent.
Like was mentioned earlier, it is a difficult task to do on our own, however, when we depend on God for help, He gives us the needed Grace to carry out and fulfill this command. The reasons are also that He wants us to bring as many people as possible into experiencing the fullness of His goodness for their lives and to come into their eternal destinies and inheritance.
Therefore, Beloved children of God, this is the day, the set time to make that decision. We must decide to walk as Christ walked and for which we have been commanded to do- ‘to love one another!!’
Fulfilling the commandment to love unconditionally would require our total commitment, trust, dependence, and obedience to God, and as we follow the blueprint laid down for us in Christ Jesus, we unlock the limitless Goodness of God’s Glory, Grace, and Mercy for us and everyone in our enclave.

PLEASE PRAY ALONG:
Fill Me with Love.
FATHER GOD, thank You for showing me Your irrationally generous love. Thank You for sending Your Son to rescue me from eternal separation from You. Today, show me how to love the people You place in front of me. When people interact with me, let them sense Your loving presence in our conversations. Fill me up with Your love so that I can pour Your love out into the weary world. In JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME AMEN!
