The Lord bless thee and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV).
REFLECT:
Nobody in their right mind would reject when they are offered a word of blessing or shown a favor. The term and the act of Blessing is a universal concept the same way love is.
We are happy whenever we are blessed with a generous gift, it lights up our lives and countenance, it makes us feel special. On the other hand, when we face a dry season devoid of any form of blessings our hearts are weighed down, we feel dejected, abandoned, without hope, and forgotten. Just like the proverbial word which says, “hope deferred makes the heart sick ” (Proverbs 13:12).
Of course, living in a world of uncertainties would, a lot of the time, drain or defraud us of our expected blessings, which by the way is never a pleasant experience, and if we are sincere to ourselves, we hate these experiences, experiences that deny us the blessings we have sort for and believe we deserve.
Generally speaking, man abhors ill-favored experiences and circumstances; Why is this the case? This is because we are creatures that are wired for blessings. We see this play out in Genesis chapter one, at the inception of the creation of the world. The first word that was spoken to us—- man by God our creator was a blessing.
However, as we all know, this favored blessing was lost when we gave away our rights over to the devil by falling into sin. Notwithstanding, the good news is that there was redemption on the cross at calvary and with this redemption also came restoration.
Our Bible verse for today even though written in the Old Testament law, is a reminder of the finished work of Jesus on the cross restoring us in full into the Blessings and Blessedness of God Almighty, and as we all know Jesus is the fulfillment of the law. Therefore, Jesus is the only acceptable Blessing of God to man that makes rich.
As children of God our special place is situated in the Blessings of the Lord, for the Blessings of the Lord is no different from the Heart of God our Heavenly Father, a place where Jesus our Lord wants to draw us into so that we can partake of all of God’s rich spiritual blessings reserved for us.
PLEASE PRAY ALONG:
God is for Me.
FATHER GOD, I am so grateful that You are for me, and not against me. You have shown me this by freely giving me all of your spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. For this reason, I can boldly say that you are my protector, provider, healer, and savior. Indeed, I am blessed because You fill my life with blessings and You guide me closer to You. Today, please make me more aware of Your presence and Your peace and cause me to be a blessing to others as well. In JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN.
