But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 (KJV).
REFLECT:
Every one of us born into this world has in one way or the other come under the tutelage of someone or something. Not even babies are left out of this experience.
We have been tutored or taught by our parents, siblings, teachers at school, life coaches, doctors at the hospital, and even life experiences, etc. We have received a diverse array of teachings, instructions, and education from all these people and avenues.
All these associations, tutelage, education, and so forth have impacted our lives one way or the other, either positively or negatively. They have influenced our thinking, behavior, and habits, and for all that is worth, they have helped us through certain aspects of life and living.
Wait a minute, at this point, let us pause and think about situations in our lives that proved very difficult to comprehend. We couldn’t just understand why things were going the way that they did and we needed counseling, guidance, and direction. Also, we knew that ordinarily, man would not be able to satisfy what we need.
Many of us can identify with this fact presented above because we have at some point been in this kind of situation. Therefore, it is at this point we look for more reliable teaching, or coaching. The kind of teaching or coaching that will not only give probable answers to some aspects of life but will give guaranteed answers to all aspects of life and living.
How possible is this? Can we find answers, instructions, teachings, and coaching for every one of life’s issues? The answer to the questions is an emphatic yes. Our Bible verse for today presents this fact in clear terms. In this Bible verse Jesus introduces us to the greatest, teacher, life coach, tutor, guide instructor, helper, and standby that the world has ever known, he is the HOLY SPIRIT.
Jesus in the Bible verse reveals to us the practical nature and role of the Holy Spirit. Which is as follows.
1. He is the Comforter.
2. He comes from the Father.
3. He is the teacher, but not just any ordinary teacher, He is the greatest teacher who will teach us everything.
4. He is a helper, facilitator, and standby. This is because He will bring to our remembrance all that Jesus has and will ever tell us.
What is mentioned above are just a few of the roles and nature of the Holy Spirit. It would be good if we can take a few moments on our own to sit with our Bibles and do some research on who the Holy Spirit is and all that He has been designated to do for us.
God our Heavenly Father practically went all out to make life easy for us by sending His Spirit, the Holy Spirit to help us to walk this life without having as many difficulties as much as possible. All we must do is respond to the Holy Spirit and decide to walk with Him as closely as possible.
When we make it a sole priority to walk closely with the Holy Spirit, He makes it His sole responsibility to deal with every obstacle in our way.
