BIBLE VERSE:
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (KJV).
REFLECT:
The act of being courageous and standing strong are complementary to each other. When someone is said to be courageous or has courage that person is seen as being a strong man or woman.
In their connotative terms, these words may mean three things to us, which may be in terms of 1. Physical and mental ability, which has to do with standing in strength, a focused awareness, or agility. 2. Emotional expressions – character-wise, which is being strong, formidable, and not easily swayed or influenced by any kind of behavior. 3. Spiritual strength which is of eternal value.
Our Bible verse for today presents these terms as being connected and inseparable, purposefully to produce a positive effect that would, in turn, spur us to action with an intended result. The summation of the word for today is an encouragement to us to stand firm in the word of GOD, be aware, and agile through consistent and persistent studying of the word. That is where our strength, agility, and awareness are derived from.
Through spending time in the word of GOD and under the tutelage of the HOLY SPIRIT we can build a character of courage, fortitude, resilience, and discipline.
Finally, all this should be expressed through our actions as we relate with the people we meet on a day-to-day basis, showing an attitude of love, kindness, compassion as we do so.
The power to shift our world around us can only be realized when we allow ourselves to develop in every area of our lives using the word of GOD as an acute lens and doing this by the strength and courage we receive from the SPIRIT of GOD.

PLEASE PRAY ALONG:
Stand in Courage and Faith.
FATHER GOD, I know that there will be people who will criticize me for my faith in You. Please give me the courage to stand in faith and the light and truth of your word by the Power of your SPIRIT as I relate with them. I ask You to help me to seek peace with everyone I meet daily. Help me to be a reflection of Your love, kindness, and compassion even in challenging interactions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
