An Even Balance For All Actions

May 30, 2022

Gold plated measuring balnce with an even weight.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luke 16:10 (KJV).

REFLECT:
Most of us may have heard of the term – “A level playing ground or field.” People would use this term or phrase in situations where they want to express their opinions about life and how it has been gracious to mete out equal opportunities to everyone to start from to be successful.

Examining such a phrase or term if we are to consider it in the light of the kind of world we live in, the basis for this term to remain true may be very farfetched. This means that there are a lot of situations presented in life which may outrightly debunk the validity of the term.

For instance, not everybody in life starts out on the same footing. It is a known fact that some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouths. This privilege gives such people or persons an added edge and leverage over and above others at no cost or hardship to themselves. For the less privileged, life could be very hard, until they break even at some point, and that is if they ever do.

Nonetheless, there is always a way if there is a will. This will is God’s will which is above man’s will. God’s will in such a situation always makes a way where there seems to be no way.

What does this mean? This means that there are certain opportunities that God causes to come our way, and if we are wise enough to yield to such opportunities and stay faithful to such opportunities, we would be granted expedited and exponential success, no matter from which throng of the ladder we start from.

What is even more exciting is that these opportunities, offer to everyone who responds willingly, enter on an equal playing field. This means that we can all start from the same level. Our entry-level into such opportunities is on an equal basis, this is because God is no respecter of persons, and He is not partial or unfaithful. Acts 10:34; Hebrews 10:23

However, our level of enthusiasm, zeal, and commitment to the rules of the game as we function in the opportunities provided, will determine how much progress and success we make.

So, what are these opportunities God can bring our way? These are the offer of His grace and mercy to us. God’s grace and mercy come to us as a total package. This package is Jesus His Son. It is in Jesus we can get the opportunity to enter life’s arena, not just on an equal playing field, but we can also be guaranteed expedited, maximum, and exponential progress and success.

So when we come to Jesus, committing and submitting ourselves and ways to Him, He begins to make things happen for us, working out all things for our good, according to His purposes for our lives. Mind you, the key here is submission and commitment, these are key ingredients we must willingly bring into the mix. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 KJV).

Secondly, the level of our surrender and commitment counts. Just like our Bible verse for today admonishes, if our faithfulness to God’s instructions, leading, and directions are met half-heartedly, then we must not be alarmed when we are not met with much success, or our progress is hampered or compromised.

On the other hand, if our hearts are wholly given to work and cooperate with God, no matter what our situations and circumstances seem to dictate or pressure us into, we must rest assured that God is faithful to come through for us big time. All we need to do is listen, trust and obey Him.

The extent we are faithful to God’s opportunities which He brings our way through His Son Jesus will determine how much success and progress we will make in the business of life and living.
