Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Colossians 1:13 (KJV).

REFLECT:
We all know the popular 911 call, that is the rescue call. Most countries take rescue missions as a very important business, especially, when their citizens are stranded in other hot spots in places where there is some kind of unrest.

Why do these types of rescue missions happen? The reason is that countries value their citizens and look out for their good. Using the same kind of analogy, we are told in our Bible verse for today about the greatest rescue mission that our world has ever seen. A rescue mission that is not just limited to a particular location, or only has to do with the realm of the physical world, but this rescue mission is Trans-dimensional, involving the Spiritual worlds as well as the earthly physical world.

This rescue mission was carried out by God Himself, who came down to earth from Heaven in the person of His Son Jesus Christ to rescue us from the Kingdom of darkness, which is Satan’s domain where man since after the fall had been held bound, enslaved to sin, fear, and death.

Through God’s Sovereign Wisdom, Jesus’s death on the cross, and His subsequent resurrection from the dead came the ultimate victory against the powers of darkness, and by so doing God our Heavenly Father rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of His Son whom He loves so much–Jesus our Lord. It is by this singular act of God’s love and victory that we have eternal life. HALLELUJAH!!

Indeed, this is a rescue mission already accomplished. The words of Jesus echo this all through history and in eternity, when on the cross He said, “It is finished,” mission accomplished. Signifying the 911 call was successfully carried out and we have been delivered, rescued, liberated, and set free to worship and serve God with a purpose, and without fear. PRAISE THE LORD!!

Therefore, we must realize that because the Father so loved the Son with unfailing love, and for this reason, our deliverance, salvation, and redemption are permanent and securely guaranteed.

FATHER GOD, thank You for rescuing me! Because of You, I don’t have to be controlled by things that will eventually destroy me. Thank You for making a way for me to experience eternal life with You.
