Sited as Sovereign Lord

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. Zechariah 14:9 (KJV).

REFLECT:
A lot of us are enamored with royalty. The pomp and pageantry and the absolute power that goes with it fill us with awe and wonder. If we are sincere to ourselves most of us may even spend our time daydreaming and wishing we were a part of that class.

There is no harm in openly admiring that kind of way of life or living, however, there is also the responsibility that comes with such a position, just like the saying that goes – ‘uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.’ This means that in having to wear the crown we must also be ready to take on the responsibilities that come with it. They walk hand in hand.

Furthermore, we seem to forget that whether royalty or not we are all human beings. The same kind of situations, circumstances, calamities, and events of life happens to every one of us. Hence, we can only do so much by our own ability. Ecclesiastes 9:2.

However, the royalty mentioned above has to do with regular people like ourselves, but on another note, there is a royalty that is greater and more affluent than anything we can imagine.

A royalty that supersedes the earthly type of royalty we know and are used to. This royalty owns the heavens and the earth and all that is in it, as He created everything.

Our Bible verse for today— Zechariah 14:9 – – introduces this auspicious royalty as God Almighty our Heavenly Father, who created the entire world. This Bible verse gives us a glimpse of what the role or responsibility of God our Heavenly Father entails. It tells us that He sits Supreme as King and rules over the entire world from His throne in Heaven.

It is from Him that we receive our being and essence, our life, strength, ability, purpose, destiny, and all that makes us humans functioning and living on the earth. Without Him, we can do nothing, and with Him, we can do and achieve all things

What is more exciting is that we who are His children in Christ Jesus are regarded as royalty too. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1Peter 2:9(KJV).

Therefore, we do not have to look too far, wishing and longing that we could be like someone who we think is prestigious, when we are the ones who have it all, because of our affiliation to God the King of Glory.

So next time we stand in front of a mirror to look at ourselves, let us remember that we are children of the King of the universe, therefore we are royalty with a purpose.

This purpose is to carry out the responsibility given to us by Jesus our Lord and Savior to reconcile the world to God the Father.

When we believe we are royalty with a Heavenly mandate, we will take our responsibilities seriously, and act in accordance with Heaven to fulfill this mandate.
