The Grace to Overcome

BIBLE VERSE:

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10 (KJV).

On this side of eternity, there will always be challenges to face. We all will at some point or another go through trials, certain hardship, pain or suffering. The causes of some of these problems may arise from bad choices we make or have made at different points in time, while others may just be that we have decided to stand for what is right or just. In the first case scenario when problems arise as a result of bad choices we may tend to look at such retributions as being justified.

However, with the second case scenario, it is usually looked at as unfair or a misplaced retribution when someone is persecuted or suffering for a good or just cause. Even though in both case scenarios there is suffering and pain happening, however, it is usually quite hard for anyone who falls into the second group of instances. The Bible is full of such instances for example the story of Job, Joseph and even our LORD JESUS who knew no sin but died on the cross for our sins. So what must we do when plunged into such a situation or circumstance, a situation where we have not done anything to deserve the punishment or judgment we seem to be receiving?

Our Bible verse for today gives us a clear picture of this kind of situation, and goes further to proffer suggestions on what we can do to not only alleviate the problem, but also and most importantly come out of such situations as overcomers and victorious. Our Bible verse for today gives us a clear picture of this kind of situation, and goes further to proffer suggestions on what we can do to not only alleviate the problem, but also and most importantly come out of such situations as overcomers and victorious. The following are a few helpful suggestions from our Bible verse to help us in our hour of unwarranted trials:

  1. We should lift up our eyes to only one place (the hills Psalms 121:1), which means to look to GOD alone in order to receive help and Grace in the time of immense need. This is not the time to wallow in self pity or throw in the towel, but rather to go to our Heavenly FATHER, spending time with GOD in prayer, fasting, studying the Word of GOD and just generally finding out and listening to what the LORD has to say about the situation.
  2. Do not hesitate to carry out any instructions the LORD gives as HE speaks by the HOLY SPIRIT. It is only the HOLY SPIRIT who is able to shed light into the very issue and bring clarity to what the situation is. Therefore, it is very necessary to spend time communing with the HOLY SPIRIT.
  3. In such situations always approach GOD with heartfelt humility, thanksgiving and worship. This kind of approach or mindset brings about a very quick response from HEAVEN. What happens is that we are telling GOD that we cannot do it ourselves and that we totally surrender to HIS Almighty Sovereignty.
  4. Be quick to bring repentance, even if we may not be aware of any sin(s) committed. You see on this side of eternity because we are still in the flesh, the enemy can still accuse us before GOD in the courts of Heaven based on bloodline iniquities.
  5. Call for the speakings of the Blood of JESUS to cleanse every sin all the way to Adam. Also ask for the blood of JESUS to speak mercy over the situation.
  6. Stand in Faith, Believe GOD for forgiveness, redemption, deliverance and restoration. For our GOD is not a man that HE should lie, HE will definitely come through for us and establish us firmly in HIM. HALLELUJAH.

When we face untold hardships of diverse temptations, trials, persecutions, suffering or pain, it is not the time to give up and throw in the towel, rather it is a time to engage GOD on a deeper level and watch HIM act on our behalf. Ebimobo W. Obasi.

PLEASE PRAY ALONG:

Help Me Praise Despite Pain.

FATHER GOD, I am so grateful that even when I go through hard situations, I still have a reason to rejoice because You redeem my suffering. Today, please help me to remember that. Help me to look for the ways You are at work in my life, and to give You the honor and praise You deserve. In JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN.
