The Light Walkers

Feb 7, 2022

BIBLE VERSE:

but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 John 1:7 (KJV).

REFLECT:

At night when it is getting dark, we automatically turn on the lights, why? Because we hate to walk around trying to get things done in the dark. During the daytime of course we usually have no problems with the dark because we have natural daylight from the sun.

What does the above statement tell us? It tells us that, light is an integral part of our being, and very necessary for direction and function. Before man fell into sin in the garden of Eden, man walked with GOD and had fellowship with HIM. GOD as we know according to the Bible is all light and dwells in unapproachable light.

This light of GOD does not only refer to the physical light alone but has other significant references such as the light of GOD’S – truth, love, word, righteousness, etc. JESUS’S sacrifice on the cross restored us back into having fellowship with GOD and being able to walk again in the light of GOD, that is if we accept JESUS as LORD and SAVIOR.

Therefore, as Christians, we are now expected to walk in the light of GOD ie in GOD’S truth, love, righteousness, mercy, healing, etc, and as we do so we remain connected to GOD in fellowship, as well as in fellowship with other believers.

Furthermore, we become light to others who are outside of fellowship with GOD and JESUS, by being good examples of GOD’S light in our actions, behaviors, and interactions, so that they too can come to an experiential relationship and fellowship with GOD and in the light of who HE is.

As we consciously determine to walk in the fullness of GOD’S light and allow it to flow and radiate through and around us, the world will have no choice but be affected by our light.

PLEASE PRAY ALONG:

Teach me to walk in your light.

FATHER GOD, You are the ultimate teacher. Please teach me to walk in your light. Let me reflect your true light in all of my actions and interactions. As I continue to walk with You, help me to learn from the mistakes I make. I don’t want to take advantage of Your grace, LORD. Thank You for extending Your forgiveness to me even though I don’t deserve it. In JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN!
